Crappy Wine Soap
Artisanal soap made from Crappy White, Crappy Red and Crappy Beer!
So, why make soap out of wine or beer? The vitamins and nutrients found in the beer (yeast = vit B, and hops are anti-inflammatory) and wine (antioxidants) help moisturize the skin and the sugars in these liquids enhance the beautiful lather of the soap. The alcohol is boiled out and then frozen before adding lye. That then builds the non-oil base for the soap. Added to this is a blend of oils and butters to create the soap. It is poured into a mold for the first 24 hours to harden and heat. The lye is mainly used up in this timeframe, but any leftover is removed during the curing process. Your soaps sat for 4 weeks. The water evaporated and the bar hardened during this time. They have an amazing lather and each their unique smell that was blended with the beer or wine flavour/smell.
